Peter's Meadow - Petersau

Peter's Meadow is an idyllic piece of land at the Rhine river with horse stables and a potato chip factory. Peter's Manor belongs to a descendant of Adam Opel, a pioneer in automobile manufacturing.

Reiss Island - Reiss-Insel

Reiss Island is the result of a Rhine straightening program in the 19th century. It's a dead branch of the stream close to the city of Mannheim which is left to nature. Floods and dry periods form a magical landscape.

Oil Harbor - Ölhafen

The northest part of the chemical company BASF at Ludwigshafen is the oil harbor where river boats bring base material. It's also the closest spot where the citizens of my hometown can get down to the Rhine river.
